In this discussion, panelists examine settler colonial strategies of land dispossession, drawing connections between settler colonialism, capitalism and extractivism across space and time. We will discuss ongoing land dispossession taking place across Canada for the settler capitalist economy, from urban development to forestry, conservation and agriculture, while emphasizing their shared tenets of extractivism. We highlight Indigenous futures, land relations, and resistance to old and new colonial strategies of dispossession.
