This performance from the Starlight Chinese Opera Performing Arts Centre aims to introduce the Congress community to the richness of Chinese Opera (Xiqu) performance in Canada. After an introduction in English with French translations, five performers will perform four Cantonese and Mandarin Opera works. The session will close with a Q&A session between the performers and the audience members.
The importance of the movement between languages and cultures at the core of the comparatist approach will be central in this multilingual event.
