We are committed to increasing equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization across Congress programming and funding programs, and encourage associations submitting funding applications to do the same. Find out more about our commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization.
The Federation is pleased to present the Open Programming Fund. This fund is intended to support sessions that embody the values of Congress as a place to hold critical conversations, hear from a diverse set of voices, share findings, refine ideas, and build partnerships to help shape the Canada of tomorrow. The objectives of the Open Programming Fund are to support English and French language events that:
-
Address topics that are important to humanities and social sciences research and the public interest, including public issues of regional, national, or global significance.
-
Promote dialogue across international borders and scholarly disciplines.

The Federation is pleased to offer an award program to help facilitate the participation of graduate students in Congress activities. The Congress Graduate Merit Award (CGMA) program consists of a $500 prize amount and has two main objectives:

- The award’s financial value is primarily meant to help offset costs associated with participating in Congress.
All associations who plan to hold a conference at Congress 2023 will receive a set number of CGMA to allocate to their most deserving graduate student members. The number of graduate students each association can endorse through the CGMA is based on their respective membership size. Each award is valued at $500 and will be disbursed in the summer following Congress 2024.
