The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action report (2015) called on law schools to play a significant role in reconciliation. Since then, many law schools across the country are actively working towards the decolonization of the curriculum and on Indigenous legal education, helping also in the efforts to revitalize Indigenous legal traditions. The proposal of this special round table is to share the experiences, struggles and innovations on Indigenous legal education across Canada. From East to West Coast. From the courses on specific Indigenous legal orders, to concentrations, programs, specializations, or even degrees such as the Certificate in Indigenous Law (uOttawa) or the Joint JD Degree Program in Canadian Common Law and Indigenous Legal Orders (uVic). This event will be also available online to facilitate the participation of colleagues and Indigenous communities that cannot attend the event in person.
