As part of our opening ceremony, our key-note speaker will explore what lessons are embedded in the mycelium-level efforts of nature and people to create the world we want to live in. Using examples from land-based healing in community gardens to organizing efforts of Black youth, she will discuss the edges of the dominant trauma discourse to uncover what pivots are possible in social work to support sustainability.
