Dear representatives of associations participating in Congress 2024,
Thank you for attending the special association meeting yesterday and for providing us with your valuable feedback. We appreciate your concerns regarding your members crossing picket lines and navigating the encampment on the McGill campus.
If your association decides it cannot meet at McGill under the current circumstances, you are welcome to consider moving your conference or a portion of your conference to the Federation's virtual platform. Our team will ensure that your Zoom links are added and available on the platform for your members to attend events virtually. Please note IT support will not be provided.
Congress 2024 will go ahead on the McGill campus as long as it is safe and accessible to do so, as well as online. We will continue to monitor the situation.
Associations remain free to withdraw their participation from Congress 2024 entirely. Similarly, registered members of associations are free to decide not to attend their conference. Please note that holding a conference at a different physical site without a stream linked to the Congress platform does not constitute participation in Congress, and will not be supported by Congress. We invite you to refer to the Congress cancellation policy for associations and for members of associations, which will apply in these cases.
If your association wishes to pivot its conference - or a portion of its conference - to the virtual platform, please inform us by Tuesday, May 14 latest. We will arrange meetings with each association to individually assist with this change at no additional cost.
Thank you again for your collaboration, and for your membership.
Sincerely,
Camille Ferrier
