An important update on Congress 2024

We are pleased to announce revised dates for next year’s Congress at McGill University, which will now be held from May 21 to 29, 2024. The new dates will make it easier for members of our community to join us at Congress and benefit from all of the opportunities it offers. Crucially, this change completely eliminates any overlap with the annual Congrès de l’Acfas, so that researchers and students can attend Congress without any concern about a conflict. We’re grateful to our partners at McGill for so generously accommodating this change.

Additionally, we are introducing a revised fee schedule for 2024, including reductions that will support students, K-12 educators, underemployed, retired and community attendees. You may review the complete 2024 fee schedule here.

We understand that having hybrid options at Congress is important for many of you. Conference rooms at McGill are equipped to accommodate Zoom sessions. Associations that wish to hold hybrid sessions will need to secure their own laptops and equipment. Virtual sessions can be hosted on the Congress virtual platform. Practical details including availability of technical support will be confirmed soon.

Associations that have yet to submit the Congress 2024 opt-in form are asked to do so by June 30, 2023. You can access the form at this link.

If your association has already submitted a form, a member of our team will reach out to you in the next few days to support you in selecting new preferred conference dates based on the revised Congress dates of May 21 to May 29, 2024.  If you have any questions in the meantime, email organizers@federationhss.ca.

You can review the revised Congress timeline with these new dates in the preliminary planning guide.

We extend our warm thanks to those of you who have taken the time to engage in these important discussions.

We look forward to seeing you at McGill next spring!
