Collaborating with Community: Forward Thinking for Restorative Justice
Maureen Plante
This roundtable discussion will engage scholars, community leaders, psychologists, and practitioners to discuss findings from recent research that identify key gaps in existing restorative justice (RJ) approaches to sexual violence (SV). Participants will engage in forward-thinking dialogue about what it would take to build a national gold standard for RJ in SV that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with the Canadian Psychological Association’s (CPA) four ethical principles. Participants will have the opportunity to think critically about ethical challenges, explore the CPA's Code of Ethics, and generate ideas for what a "gold standard" of RJ might look like.
