Ubuntu in practice: Reframing togetherness to promote Black wholeness
Welcome! This community-centered and interactive workshop will be facilitated from an Afrocentric Framework. Together, we’ll explore the importance of this liberatory, trauma-informed, and culturally affirming framework to foster student connection, increase engagement while promoting Black student mental health, well-being, and thriving. Examples will be drawn from the creative and innovative programming (e.g. art-based, land-based, and somatic approaches) provided by the Black Student Success Network (BSSN) in collaboration with Black counsellors from the College’s Counselling and Student Well-Being department.
Note: All are welcome.
