Congress 2024 - Attendee Survey

Dear attendee,

Each year of Congress is unique from the last, and Congress 2024 certainly occurred amidst an exceptional context. There is plenty to reflect on from Congress 2024, and with it much to celebrate.

This year, almost 9,000 registrants gathered in Montreal and online under the theme Sustaining shared futures. Scholars, graduate students, policymakers and community members participated in 58 conferences and joined in on over 100 open events, presenting critical research in the humanities and social sciences and engaging in timely and important discourse on the major topics of our time.

We wanted to take an opportunity to thank each of you who took part. Your contributions play a vital role in demonstrating the importance and impact of the humanities and social sciences in addressing today’s big questions and societal challenges. Now more than ever, the conversations held during Congress are essential in informing and guiding our collectively sustainable future in Canada.

Whether you joined us in Montreal or across Canada and internationally online, thank you for lending your time and your voice to this necessary endeavor.

To our 58 participating associations, we are grateful for your key contributions to Congress and for the great joy of promoting your work.

We would also like to thank our partners for Congress 2024. Congress would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Universities Canada, University Affairs, Sage, Acfas, and The Conversation Canada.

The Federation team has the honour of bringing Congress to life each year, but we extend a special thank you to the contractors, event technicians, operation teams at McGill, and every member of staff behind-the-scenes for their amazing work.

We cannot wait to see you next year at Congress 2025 at George Brown College, from May 30 to June 6.

Sincerely,

The Congress team
