Investigator-initiated research is a vital part of the Canadian health research enterprise. The world of health research and its funding are evolving and CIHR recognizes that changes are needed to enhance the way we fund investigator-initiated health research and knowledge translation to fulfill both the broad spectrum of CIHR's mandate and sustain Canadian health research.

CIHR has published a discussion document outlining the proposed changes to the Open Suite of Programs and Peer Review Process and is looking for input from the humanities and social sciences community to help refine our design. Feedback can be submitted until March 30, 2012.

Please visit the CIHR website for more information on the reforms and to access the design discussion document.
