Nominations for Vice-president, Teaching and Learning

The CFHSS Nominating Committee is pleased to announce it will soon be accepting nominations for the new position of Vice-president, Teaching and Learning on the CFHSS Executive Committee. Nominations will be submitted by the Representatives of the CFHSS General Assembly.

Current members of the General Assembly, and those who have served within the last five years, are eligible for election to these positions.  Complete details about the portfolios, eligibility and the nominations procedure can be found here.

Those who are nominated will be contacted by CFHSS, to provide up-to-date biographical notes and a Statement of Intent about their candidacy.

The closing date for nominations is June 15, 2012 at noon EST.

Vice-President, Teaching and Learning

The Vice-President, Teaching and Learning, is a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences and shares responsibility for organizational performance and outcomes. The position formalizes a commitment to the quality of teaching and learning which better reflects the CFHSS’s mission to promote research, scholarship, creative activity and learning, and foster understanding of the contributions made by the humanities and the social sciences to Canada and the world. He/she is responsible for advising the Board of Directors and members of the Federation on matters related to the changing nature of teaching, training and learning at Canadian post-secondary institutions. The VP, TL will work closely with other VPs to foster links with the Research, Equity and Dissemination mandates of the CFHSS.
