Grand Challenges Canada, a not-for-profit hosted at the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health, is seeking emerging Canadian scientists with innovative ideas to solve challenges in global health.

Canadian Rising Stars in Global Health is a funding program that aims to tap into the creativity, knowledge and skills of emerging Canadian scientists to solve some of the most persistent health challenges in the developing world through scientific, social, and business innovation. We call this approach Integrated Innovation.

The Canadian Rising Stars in Global Health program is seeking emerging scientists' ideas and creativity to address pressing global health issues. In this round, we will award up to 20 grants of $100,000. Awardees in this round will be eligible for a later competition of $1 million awards. The application deadline for this round of $100,000 grants is March 7, 2011.

You must be within ten years from having completed a PhD or a health professional degree.

To apply, visit the Funding page of our website (www.grandchallenges.ca/funding) and click on link to register. Fill out a short on-line application and upload a simple video (2 minutes max) that explains to the public the challenge you're addressing, why it's important, and your creative idea for addressing it.
