As an Indigenous educator of mandated Indigenous Education, teacher education courses over the last 10 years, I have been researching the impacts of using Indigenous Threads of Pedagogies within these courses to support new educators. My research is focused on the ways my ancestors have passed down knowledge from one generation to the next and then applying those practices, which I call the Threads of Indigenous Pedagogy ,within my courses I teach. The impact of this work has transformed my classroom and the learning that takes place. In this talk I will share what the Threads of Indigenous Pedagogies are, and how they are used within the classroom context. I will also talk about how I have embedded them into practice and the impacts these practices have had on student learning and how they take theses threads into their own teaching practices.
