Envisioning the future for an equitable and inclusive social economy ecosystem in Canada
The following presentation outlines an early-stage partnership project that will spearhead the development of an inclusive and equitable social economy ecosystem in Canada. Original research informing the project will be summarized before outlining the partnership framework between MacEwan University and the Association for Nonprofit and Social Economy Research (ANSER). The presenter will summarize a plan aimed at developing a social economy ecosystem in Canada that leverages collaboration and connection and offers support to organizations and researchers by helping to address gaps in equity, accessibility and inclusion. This will include a multi-stage community-engaged research and knowledge mobilization project that is set to launch in summer 2026. The presentation will provide a brief overview of project goals and approaches before inviting attendees to share ideas and experiences that can be leveraged to increase capacity and impact. Leaders and changemakers within human service organizations will benefit from knowledge exchange and possible opportunities for future participation in the development of an inclusive and equitable social economy ecosystem in Canada.
