Today is the day! Registration has opened for the 2014 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, which will be held from May 24 to 30, 2014 at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. Nestled between two Great Lakes in the heart of Ontario’s wine country, our Congress hosts offer a beautiful campus and top notch facilities.

The theme for Congress 2014 is “Borders without Boundaries” and refers to the University’s proximity to the geopolitical border with the USA and primarily to the need to think, work and create beyond traditional disciplinary, historical, cultural and social boundaries.

Congress is an opportunity to meet scholars, policymakers and stakeholders from around the world. More than 70 scholarly associations converge at Congress, each holding their own conference. It is a unique opportunity to present research, exchange ideas and discover new perspectives while networking with 8,000+ attendees. Register by March 31 and benefit from early bird Congress rates.

Congress also offers a range of academic, professional and cultural programming to enrich your experience including Congress Expo and Big Thinking lecture series. The stimulating line-up of Big Thinking speakers includes:

  • Lawrence Hill, Blood: The Stuff of Life
  • David Plotz, Fast, Cheap, and Out of Control: How the Internet Has Made Journalism Better Than It's Ever Been
  • Catherine Dauvergne, The End of Settler Societies and the New Politics of Immigration

The Congress 2014 program is continually being updated, so check back often for details about all the exciting programming.

We hope to see you there and don't forget to use the new Congress hashtag: #congressh.
