Last week, Ken Coates, Canada Research Chair in Regional Innovation, presented the first Big Thinking lecture of the season on inclusive innovation. You can now watch a video of the lecture above.

The Council of Canadian Academies released its report, The State of Science and Technology in Canada, today. CFHSS is pleased to note that the report highlights the contributions of research in the arts, humanities and social sciences to Canada’s research enterprise. Earlier this week, the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada president Paul Davidson and chair Stephen Toope spoke with the Ottawa Citizen and called for more university graduates, saying that future economic demands could only be met by people with higher education, including those from the social sciences and humanities.

University Affairs has launched a new blog called Taking the Plunge. Written by Margo Fryer, the blog will focus on community engagement and ways in which universities can benefit their communities.
