In an increasingly complex and competitive research ecosystem, it can feel impossible for researchers to stand out amongst the crowd. This presentation will introduce trends in scholarly publishing of particular relevance to graduate students and junior scholars. Techniques to increase the discoverability of scholarship on the web via researcher identifiers, self-archiving, and open-access publishing will also be covered during the session.
